Decentraland’s virtual world

In June, a virtual plot of land in Decentraland sold for 1.3 million MANA (equivalent to $913,000 at the time) to build a mall, selling virtual clothes. Reuters said it has visited the site many times but has not seen anyone shopping here.

Decentraland’s virtual world is divided into 16×16 plots of land. Each of these plots is represented by an NFT. MANA coin is considered as in-game currency, used to buy and sell land and as a means of transaction for all activities.

Landowners in the platform will also receive income from their real estate, being able to stitch adjacent pieces of land to build into unique architecture. Decentraland gameplay is similar to the famous Minecraft game.

Decentraland is a longtime project in the metaverse-oriented cryptocurrency space. Recently, Decentraland held a large-scale festival, bringing together more than 80 top artists with 5 epic virtual stages built entirely in the game world.

Before the positive news for the metaverse field, the price of MANA coin set a new peak at USD 5.78 on the afternoon of November 25. According to Coinbase, the value of this cryptocurrency has increased by about 400% since Facebook changed its name to Meta.
